Pick a room name, meet there, paste a video. When anyone presses play, pauses, skips ahead or changes the video, it happens on every screen in the room.
Box office
Whoever types the same name lands in the same room, so pick one only the two of you would guess, like moonlight23. Leave it empty for a random code.
or to keep your rooms, colours and recently played on all your devices. It’s optional.
Use the secure address
Switching to the secure (https://) address…
Drive-In has to be opened from an address that starts with https://. Browsers only allow the encryption it uses on secure pages, and this one opened with http://.
If your site is on Hostinger: open Websites, press Dashboard next to your site, then go to Security and SSL. Press Install SSL if you see it and wait a few minutes until it shows Active. Turn on Force HTTPS there too.
Try the https:// addressOne more step
YouTube only plays inside pages opened from a web address, not from a file on your computer. Put these files on your website, then open it from there:
- On Hostinger: open File Manager, go into public_html, upload drive-in.zip, then right-click it and choose Extract.
- Open https://your-domain/drive-in/
README.txt in the folder has the full steps, plus a free option (Netlify) if you don't have hosting.
- Pick a room nameAny word you both know. No account needed.
- Meet thereType the same name on the other screen, or send the invite link.
- Paste a YouTube linkPress play. Everyone starts together.
Works in Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Safari on Windows and Mac, and on phones. What you send between you is encrypted with your room name.
